A unique scheme called 'Bangaru Thalli', unveiled by chief minister N
Kiran Kumar Reddy for the welfare of the girl child belonging to poor
families, having white ration cards is being implemented from Wednesday
across the state. As per the details of the scheme that was announced by
Kiran Kumar Reddy during his Medak tour on Monday, the state government
would take care of the education as well as marriage expenses of girls.
As per the 'Bangaru Thalli' scheme, the state will give Rs 1,000 per
month to the woman from the time she conceives till the time of her
child's birth. And if a girl child is born, the mother would be given Rs
2,500 at the time of delivery. From then on till the girl attains the
age of five, Rs 1,500 would be given each year to the family towards the
girl's expenses. At the time of admission to school, the family would
be paid Rs 1,000 and Rs 2,000 every year for her studies from Class I to
V. She will be paid Rs 2,500 each for the VI to the VIII standard and
Rs 3,000 each for Class IX and X. For Intermediate, the girl will be
paid Rs 3,500 per year and Rs 4,000 for each of the three years of
graduation.
