Indian News-Kedarnath Temple Not Strong Enough-Newsmasthi.com

Faith governs everything in a country like India, where people can be seen giving more emphasis on going to a temple than to a school. People in India try to find a religious angle in every natural calamity.

In the recent floods of Uttarakhand many such logics (actually beliefs) came out brewing. One of which is the survival of Kedarnath temple, the adobe of the Lord Shiva himself. The 1200 years temple compound, which used be filled with praise for lord Shiva, chants, daily prayers, is now silent as a morgue.

The pundits and the devotees believe that it is a divine miracle of the Lord Shiva himself. But the question arises that we Indians look upto the God to save us from all that is bad, then why would a Lord kill his devotees and save only his home. For this also people have their logics, they say that Lord Shiva is angry with the humans, which led to this devastation.

On the unfortunate day of June 16, some devotees took shelter in the temple to save their live and according to priest, it is the miracle of god. But the scientists and experts fail to agree with this explanation and claim that the survival of Kedarnath temple should be credited to its architecture.

What is so special about this temple; is it really a divine miracle or is it an example of a marvellous ancient technology which has failed all the modern engineering? The Kedarnath compound is located at a place which is prone to calamities from time to time. Surrounded by three high mountains, the Kedarnath is a meeting point of five rivers - Mandakini, Madhuganga, Kshirganga, Saraswati and Swarnadwari. Even though some of these rivers are now imaginary but this area is presided by Mandakini, a very unpredictable river.
