AP Political News-CBI Memo Cancelled By Supreme Court on Sabitha & Dharmana-Newsmasthi.com

Hyderabad : Former ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and Sabita Indra Reddy got relief in the CBI court in the agency’s petition seeking their judicial custody. The CBI court struck down the memo filed by the agency seeking that the two should be sent to judicial custody on the plea that they might influence the witnesses if they remained outside.
The CBI raised objections to the two former ministers talking to the media after quitting the cabinet and stating that they had not done any wrong and assuring that they would come out clean. CBI stated that this amounted to contempt of the judiciary and questioned how they could claim that they were innocent when the case was before the court. The agency expressed suspicion that the two might intimidate and influence the witnesses.
However, the court felt that the accused could not be found fault with, and also stated that there was no evidence that they had threatened witnesses or tamper with the evidence.
It may be mentioned that the CBI filed a memo seeking that the two former ministers be sent to Judicial Custody. The court directed the two to file counters. After filing the counters, the court took up the hearing of the arguments. Hearing was concluded on July 25. Judgment was given on Wednesday, bringing relief to the two former ministers.
