AP Political News-Seemandhra Leaders To Meet Antony Panel-Newsmasthi.com

Seemandhra Congress leaders are said to be divided on the methods to be adopted to exert pressure on their party high command to reconsider its decision to bifurcate the state.
Though the marathon meeting, held at the chief minister’s camp office here on Saturday night, passed a unanimous resolution requesting the party leadership to keep the state as it is, several leaders put forth several demands.
Over 60 lawmakers including the chief minister, PCC chief, ministers, 36 MLAs and eight MLCs from Seemandhra took part in the meeting which began at 5 pm and went on till 10 pm. Ministers TG Venkatesh, P Balaraju, N Raghuveera Reddy and S Vijayarama Raju did not attend.
According to sources, the meeting witnessed intense debate on the list of demands they would place before the Antony Committee when they meet it in Delhi on August 19 and 20. There was no unanimity either on  going to Delhi to meet the committee or they should demand that the committee visit Hyderabad to hear their opinions.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao and some others opposed the idea of visiting Delhi to present their arguments and wanted the committee to visit Seemandhra to have a first-hand feel of the United Andhra movement there. But, after much debate, they decided to send a delegation to Delhi to meet the Antony Committee on August 19 and 20.
According to MLA Bandaru Satyananda Rao, the meeting passed a resolution urging the Congress high command not to divide the state.
