Bhuj: Gujarat Chief Minster Narendra Modi on Thursday took a dig at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh while addressing the people in Bhuj. In his Independence Day speech, Modi hit out on Singh while adding that President Pranab Mukherjee was more aggressive in giving a message to Pakistan on the rise of recent ceasefire violation at the LoC.

"I do not believe that the Red Fort is not meant to challenge Pakistan but I believe the address should have been to lift the morale of the forces. Why didn't he take a hard stand on Pakistan in his Independence Day's speech?" he said.

Modi's speech, delivered in Hindi to target a much wider audience outside his home state was more political than that fitting the occasion of Independence Day, slammed Singh for not raising the issue of corruption in his speech.
